Who dropped the ball on the Olson Christmas party?! I miss my cousins, we need to get together!!!!!!!!!!

Laron and Darlene's Family Gathered

For the OPENING of Gregory's Mission Call!  Gregory was so cute to hold onto his call for two days so that EVERYONE could be together as he found out where in the WORLD he had been called to Serve our Father in Heaven in Sharing the GOOD NEWS of the Gospel!

It was pretty exciting -- and the kids of every age could feel how special this moment was!

Gregory has been called to serve in the RUSSIA, MOSCOW WEST MISSION!  He will report to the MTC at the beginning of April!

We are all so excited for him!!

Ginny's Bridal Shower. . .

There is a bridal shower for Ginny at Marilyn Chambers house. The invitations are in the mail but if you haven't gotten one it's coming and everyone's invited. It's next Saturday at 10:00 am, before the football game, sooo we hope to see everyone there!!

New Addition. . .

Kathie and Matt Kriek had a little baby girl Oct. 17, 2010. They named her Olivia Katheryn Kriek. Both mom and baby are doing well!

More on the Summer Reunion

We all had such a GREAT time at the Summer Reunion!

How lucky is Ginny -- she got to have a song dedicated just to her!

I do BELIEVE that is an A on Uncle Donnie's shirt!  The number of AGGIE Fans in the Olson Family is growing!!

The dancing, the decorations -- it was ALL GREAT!  Thanks to Lynn and Carol's Family for putting this one together!

Olson Family Karaoke

"Pop it, lock it" The kids were so cute to get up and do the Hannah Montana song. They did such a good job.

The most amazing dancer, if only we had an award for that, it would have gone to Uncle Donny for his amazing dancing skills!

The "Dancing Queens" Shirley did an amazing job getting everyone together for this one! It was so much fun being up there with Uncle Larry's family!

Oh soooo cute! "I got you babe" by Sonny and Cher was sung by Maddy and Ginny's boyfriend and dedicated to Ginny! He was such a good sport for getting up to sing with Maddy, it was so fun seeing them up there!

The winning family, uncle Laron's family! It was fun seeing them get so into the song! Hand's down they won the competition!

Uncle Mel, Aunt Deniece and group did a good job as well. It was so cute seeing everyone up there together having fun! Look at Tresa's talent with holding the baby and being the lead singer, it's pretty darn good!

Lynn's group was the first singing "Fun, Fun, Fun" byt the Beach Boys, to get the ball rolling and it didn't sound the greatest. BUT---What we didn't have in voices we made up for in energy and Spirit! Next time we'll have to practice a little better to take home the prize!

Thanks everyone for coming to the reunion, we were scared that we wouldn't have enough people to do all the crazy things we planned, but we had a good, big group show up. We had a lot of fun planning the reunion and loved seeing everyone participate! I can't wait until Christmas and see what's going to happen there!

Ulysses S. Cline


Born – Bainbridge – Cerulean, Kentucky 06 Dec 1863

Joined the church in 1888 at the age of 25 and because an anti-Mormon mob came for him because of his recent membership in the church – he sold his horse and left Kentucky and traveled to Utah on the train.

He went to Grantsville to stay with Elder Shipp, the missionary who had converted him. This was late summer of 1888.

In April of 1893 Ulysses and Angelia Barrus attended the dedication of the Salt Lake Temple. – Ulysses asked Angelia to marry him that day! They were married on the 27 July 1893 in the Salt Lake Temple.

There children are:
1) Remo Sterling Cline Born: 22 Sept 1894

2) Wilda Barrus Cline Born: 22 Sept 1894

3) Wilbert Barrus Cline Born: 27 Oct 1896

4) Eula Cecil Cline Born: 07 Apr 1899

5) Lavere Benjamin Cline Born: 27 Apr 1902

6) Luella Lovina Cline Born: 12 Nov 1904

7) Thelma Angelina Cline Born: 07 Nov 1911

In 1904 Ulysses went on a mission to Kentucky. He wanted to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with some of his Cline relatives. Some of the men in the “mobs” that had run him out of Kentucky were now listening to him preach the gospel!

In the Spring of 1912 Ulysses and Angelia with their children traveled to Afton, Wyoming. They homesteaded on Bitter Creek and after five years sold their homestead and bought a farm in Osmond.

In 1922 Ulysses found employment in Salt Lake City and they moved back to Utah.

In 1935 they moved to Logan, Utah

Ulysses found so much joy working and going to the Temple.

In 1940 Ulysses and Angelia went to Kentucky on the Greyhound bus to see his relatives.

Ulysses died 06 Feb 1954 in Logan, Utah. He is buried in the Grantsville cemetery.

Family Update

I FINALLY got my Family Update to Lisa today! Have you turned yours in? I know she is really working hard to get this book all put together! You could even post yours on the blog if you wanted! Maybe tomorrow I can upload mine? Can't even think about it tonight:)!!

Another Cousin Get Together in St. George

Kirk and Marilyn came to visit David and Melissa over President's Day weekend. So we are thankful to the Ord's for having us all over for another cousin get together! Lots of little ones having so much fun playing!

Cousin Memories - Steve Ord

Olson Reunion Memories-

I loved the Olson Reunions. It was the best time of the year. It took me a long time when I was young to decide what to wear. My cousins my age; Chad, Linsey, Mindy, and Brandon were my best friends growing up. Teressa’s girls were like sisters to me. It was fun to see everyone. I remember them being at Mel’s church a lot with that delicious ham. Mel was good about always having a basketball or volleyball game going. All the Aunts and Uncles would take their turns talking to me individually which was hard for me to sit still and talk to them and I acted shy but I really liked it when they did that.

The Reunions in Star Valley were always fun for me. It became too far for our family to go a lot but I loved it up there. Staying at the hotel, hitting golf balls, hiking to Geyser Springs, seeing millions of grasshoppers jumping on Grandpas front lawn, and the smell of the old house was fantastic. I remember the Johns reunion was the first reunion I juggled at. I juggled dinner rolls for a silver dollar. It was great. Who knew that would turn into a tradition. I loved juggling at the reunions. In January I would already be thinking of what to do for my juggling act the next year. It was great to include Cameron and others. I loved the kids there. Football games and Mel’s trampoline were always fun too.

The best memories were always found in the yearly update by the Aunts and Uncles and then Grandpas poems. I have an arsenal of poems thanks to Grandpa that I use every talk. He was a great man. My hero. I want to be just like him. I’m so grateful for the Olson side of my family. They helped me see what an eternal family can be like. Thanks for the memories.

Teressa Ellen Olson Stahle

Teressa Ellen Olson Stahle 1957 ~ 2010

Teressa Ellen Olson Stahle, loving wife and mother, passed away on January 19, 2010 while in the service of her family.

Teressa was born to Melvin and Wilda Olson in Afton Wyoming on October 19, 1957. She was the youngest of seven children. Teressa graduated high school from Star Valley High School. Later, she attended Brigham Young University where she graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. During her time at BYU, she met her husband, Roger Stahle, and they were sealed together in the Salt Lake Temple. They celebrated 31 wonderful years together last December.

After graduating from BYU, she began teaching elementary school. She spent over 25 years devoted to helping children enjoy learning and to succeed every step of the way.

More than teaching, she loved spending time with her family; husband Roger, her four daughters Mindy, Candace (Palfreeman), Ginny, Madison and son-in-law Scott Palfreeman. She never missed out on an opportunity to cheer on and support those she loved most by going to various sport events and recitals. Her last days were spent with her latest additions to the family: her three beautiful grandchildren (Harley Stahle, and Chase and Carter Palfreeman).

After receiving a heart transplant almost 8 years ago she continued giving back by being a donor herself.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brothers Larry Olson (Shirley), Laron Olson (Darleen), Mel Olson (Sue), Donnie Olson (Cindy), Lynn Olson (Carol), and sister Deniese Ord (Craig).

She will be loved and missed.

The Viewing will be at Walker Family Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork, UT on Monday evening January 25, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday morning prior to services at 10 a.m at the church.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Spanish Fork East Stake Center, 870 East Canyon Rd, Spanish Fork.

Family Home Evening in Southern Utah!

We were able to get together at the Stum's house for a family home evening. Chad and Janae Olson (Aubrey & Parker), Tyler and Jaynie Jensen (Jonah, Avery,& Maren), David and Melissa Ord (Emily, Andrew, & Sarah) & Justin and Kristen Stum (Katelyn, Ali, Tyler, Sam, & Gracie). We had lots of fun guessing which gospel art picture each family had when they acted out the story and then enjoyed some yummy treats!
